How to Level Up Your Notion With Indify Widgets

If you’re a Notion user, you’ve probably started exploring the many features and blocks it offers. While Notion offers many features in its own software, third-party Indify widgets can boost your Notion spreads even further.

Widgets for Notion are simple and easy-to-use applications that can be added to a page and provide a useful function or display of information. Let’s take a look at some of the best widgets Indify has to offer and see how you can customize them.

What Is Indify?

Indify is a free online resource that houses several widgets that are designed to integrate effectively into Notion. In order to get access to and customize the widgets they have in their database, you will first have to make an account. This way, you’ll be able to store your custom widgets for additional use.

You can create an account by either entering your email address and signing in through a special link or by signing in with your Google account.

Once you’re all set, you can get start grabbing widgets. Here are a few must-haves that you need to add to your pages.

Notion Weather Widget

The weather widget displays the weather for your desired location and can provide an upcoming forecast of up to seven days. You can choose the location you’d like to see the weather for, which Google powers.

Additionally, you can customize the forecast by choosing imperial or metric measurements and the number of days you want it to appear.

Some fun things about this widget include the animated weather icons and the option to choose between a colorful or grayscale display.


Notion Clock Widget

Have you ever been so focused on Notion that you lose track of time? Well, with this widget you’ll always have the time on your page. The Clock widget provides a real-time clock that is automatically set to your local timezone.

Notion Google Calendar Widget

While Notion has its own calendar that you can use in the app itself, you can also easily integrate your own Google Calendar into your page with this widget.

Simply sign in to your Google account to access your calendar, and pick the calendar and view you want. There are a few extra settings that you will require an Indify Pro subscription for, such as adding multiple calendar views, but the free version will give you a nice and simple widget.

There are also some interactive elements on Notion to change the view between Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Agenda. However, the widget only displays the information from your Google calendar, so you won’t be able to edit or add events straight from Notion.

Notion Countdown Widget

No matter if you have an upcoming event or an impending deadline, a countdown widget can help you stay on top of how much time you have left. This widget can countdown from the number of years left to the number of seconds.

Simply give your countdown a name, select the countdown date from the calendar, and toggle on and off between the counters you want.

Notion Counter Widget

If there is a single thing that you want to keep track of, then the Counter widget is the perfect and easy solution for you. It can be a great way to keep track of habits or keep count of tasks completed.

All you need to do is give the Counter a title, and a simple interactive counter widget is generated. Press the right button to count one, and the left button to remove one.

Notion Button Widget

There are multiple ways to link to external websites in Notion, but sometimes you might want to add a little extra something to your spread. The simple button widget takes you straight to the website you link, and there are multiple customization options.

You can change the text and icon for the button and change the button’s shape, font, and color. These are well-integrated with Notion’s design, so they will fit in seamlessly with your pages.

To get started, hover your mouse over the widget you’d like to add and click Create Widget. This takes you to a customization page where you can rename the widget, edit the settings, and preview what the widget will look like.

It will also save every widget you create to your account to edit or duplicate later.

How to Make a New Indify Widget

Once you’re happy with your settings, copy the custom link that is generated for you on Indify. This is found in the bottom left of the screen. You can click on the clipboard icon to instantly copy the link.

How to Embed a Widget onto Notion

Then, go into Notion and create a new block for where you want the widget to go. Paste the link, and click Create Embed. This successfully embeds the online widget into Notion. You can use the gray sidebars and corners to resize the widget to your liking.

Advanced Customization

There are even more ways to customize widgets on Indify, and you can find more advanced settings when you scroll down. If you have your Notion application set to dark mode, then you can toggle on the Dark Mode option to match the widget with the rest of the Notion page.

There is also an option to include a Dark Mode hover bar on the widget. By enabling that, you will be able to hover over your widget to turn dark mode on and off.

You can customize the colors of each widget by clicking on the color icon. From there, you will be able to pick colors from a few remade palettes that match the shades found in Notion.

If you want full customization, you can also create any color by either using the color slider or inputting the HEX code. Indify also lets you use RGB and HSL values.
