WandaVision Concept Art Reveals More Unused Designs for Scarlet Witch

Marvel concept artist Andy Park reveals the alternate designs he made for Wanda Maximoff’s costume from the final episode of WandaVision.

Marvel concept artist Andy Park revealed some of the alternate designs he made for Scarlet Witch’s costume featured in the WandaVision finale, all of which ultimately went unused.

Park previously shared just one of the unused designs for the Scarlet Witch costume, featuring a dramatic hood, and another alternate design for Maximoff’s ensemble that featured longer sleeves, a cape and some other altered details. Park recently shared the entire collection of unused designs for Wanda’s outfit. Some of the features of the alternative designs include hoods, capes, sleeves, and some that don’t include the iconic headdress from the comics. “I think they made the right choice,” Park concluded, referring to the sleeveless version of the costume that was ultimately used on the Disney+ limited series.

The costume that was finally chosen for the show’s series finale was recently made into an exclusive WandaVision Funko Pop figure from Entertainment Earth. The four-inch collectable features Wanda in her costume from the end of the series reading from the Darkhold. While similar to an earlier released Funko Pop design from the show, the recent Entertainment Earth exclusive version of the figure glows in the dark.

Despite the success of WandaVision which was the first Marvel Cinematic Universe series to be released on the Disney+ streaming platform — Olsen previously revealed that there are no plans for a second season. Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab seemed to confirm as much in a recent interview. “It’s like a crazy world,” Diab said. “Even with the successful shows, like WandaVision, they’re not doing season two. She jumped into a film, maybe she’s going to come back or not. I don’t know. And that’s exciting.”

Instead of a second season, the series sets up the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswhich will see a powerful Scarlet Witch return to the MCU. WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer is also expected to develop a spinoff series focusing on Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness.

WandaVision ended with Maximoff using her powers to make Harkness believe that she was truly the nosy neighbor that she had pretended to be in Wanda’s sitcom fantasies, seemingly trapping her in Westview, New Jersey indefinitely. The Agatha Harkness spinoff is one of several MCU series in the works for Disney+, including Ms. Marvel, Ironheart and She-Hulk.

WandaVision is now streaming on Disney+.
