Design Room Manager – Pedestrian Jobs

Alex Perry is looking for a Design Room Manager to join the team on a full time basis. The Design Room Manager will drive the successful delivery of seasonal collections alongside the Design Manager.

The successful candidate will have impeccable technical garment construction knowledge, experience working within a design room team as well as having a full understanding of a luxury product.

Alex Perry maintains a well-established global wholesale business, key stockists include Net-a-Porter, Browns, Mytheresa, Bergdorf Goodman, Selfridges, Neiman Marcus and Forward.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Manage in conjunction with Design Manager seasonal sample collection- from sketch to sample sign off
Management of design room critical path and calendar
Implement and Manage in conjunction with Design Manager process for on-time delivery as well as schedule of design, sourcing, patterns & sample making according to the Critical Path and Design Room Calendar
Ensure all deadlines are adhered to and the critical path is followed
· Main point of contact for all Design Room Staff
Monitoring and assigning daily workloads for design assistants, machinists, cutters and pattern makers
Oversee the cutting, colors and quantity of salesman / press and production samples
Implement technical and construction knowledge in ability to assess garments with respect to price point while maintaining design integrity
Responsible for the correct presentation and quality control of samples for the range
· Provide technical briefings to internal and external parties
· Manage and schedule sample fit session alongside the Design / Production team
· Work in conjunction with Production in generating the Production Packs including handover of fabric specifications, garment technical briefings etc.

The candidate will also require the following;
Has a fashion degree or Industry equivalent
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role for an internationally recognized luxury brand
· High attention to quality and detail
· High fabric composition / yarn knowledge
· Excellent technical garment construction knowledge
· Awareness of fabric bases and print placement
· Extremely organized and a strong multi tasker
· Proficient Microsoft Office Word & Excel skills
· Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign skill to a high level
· Professional verbal and written communication skills
· Proactive, efficient, hardworking and highly motivated
Ability to meet strict deadlines
